If you’re a professional in the business of creating video content, you know how the process works.
We don’t need to waste your time covering the basics of camera setup, pursuit car blocking, or the fundamentals of cinematography.
What you may not know, and what we’d like to cover in this short article is how we, Shift Dynamics, like to work with Producers, Directors, and DPs.
We not only bring the exclusive cinematic gear and the highly-trained professionals to get the shots you want, we also specialize in turning your vision (a shot list, a one sheet, or even a simple text message) into the world-class product you’re looking for.
In short, we can breathe life into what is now just a mere piece of paper on your desk.
So, what does this look like?
How Shift Dynamics Works With Producers, Directors, and Directors of Photography
It all starts with a relationship.
And yes, we really mean that. To us, our relationships are the very foundation of our company culture and they drive everything else in our business.
You’re only as good as your last job, and we take that seriously. When working on a project, how you feel is a big part of whether it was successful or not and we want to make sure that you feel satisfied with our solutions.
From our first discovery meetings, to the signing of contracts, to the delivery of your film, we want to partner with our clients and build – if possible – a lifelong creative relationship that benefits all involved, including the audience and industry-at-large.
Our process is the picture of stress-free simplicity. We aim to not only get your shots, but to be an agile problem solver for you from the jump.
We start with an informal preliminary consultation, usually with the Producer, Director, or Director of Photography of the project. Mostly, at this stage, we want to listen.
We’ll discuss the details of your project (usually over really good coffee) and, even if every detail hasn’t yet been fleshed out, we’ll begin to match your vision with a custom plan involving our team and cinematic gear, a plan that will ultimately deliver the product you want.
And let us be clear, even if you’re currently working from a few lines on your notes app, we can be as involved (or uninvolved) as you want in aspects of the production like location scouting, creative shot alternatives, and problem-solving for coverage.
Whether you’re a seasoned producer or just getting your career started, we can offer as much or as little assistance on the creative side as you want or need. And it really doesn’t matter if you’re producing a 30-second ad or 90-minute feature, we’ve seen and done it all.
After this initial consult, we begin implementing our side of the plan … which involves the assemblage of the perfect team, equipment packages, and custom gear solutions your project will require.
From there, we pack everything, and everyone, up and get it all on the road to your location(s).
It’s difficult to quantify just how much stress, planning, and logistical hassle we can completely remove from your plate, but that’s one of our main goals … to make it much easier for you to produce a world-class video or film.
Alright, so what can all of this actually look like, as a completed project?
Enough talk, let’s get right down to the thing that matters most, the final output of our work. What can we deliver?
Allow Us to Introduce Ms. Lindsay Ell and Mr. Chayce Beckham.
The video below is just one example of that.
Now, that’s just one example of our recent work. If you have the time, you can find more right here, or you can grab a quick snapshot of what our clients think of our process below.
As we said at the beginning of this article, there’s much more to our process than we’ve outlined here.
We only wanted to focus on the most important part of that process, the part that we think allows us to deliver a product that exceeds all of your expectations.
That said, if you’re ever in the Nashville area, our door is open.
We’d love to spend some time with you and show you around the place … our team and our inventory is all here and we love showing people like you how everything works.
